Trichocereus

The genus that started us down this road. Trichocereus (trik-oh-SEER-ee-us), which botanists increasingly file under Echinopsis, are the fast-growing columnar cacti of the Andes, prized for their architecture, their forgiving nature, and their willingness to root from a bare cutting. Most people meet the group through Trichocereus pachanoi, the plant known as San Pedro, but the genus runs deep: the blue-frosted peruvianus, the spiny bridgesii, the smooth scopulicola, and a long list of named clones and hybrids collectors trade by letter and number.

We grow ours conscientiously in the sun-drenched hills of Riverside County, cut from mother plants we've raised for years, labeled honestly so you know exactly what you're getting. Everything here ships bare-root. Browse the full range below, or start with the classic.

All Trichocereus are sold strictly as ornamental specimens.
